Presidential Inauguration Ticket Request Form

The President and Vice President of the United States will be sworn into office on Wednesday, January 20, 2021. The inauguration ceremony, organized by the Joint Congressional Committee Inaugural Ceremonies (JCCIC),will be held on the west front of the U.S. Capitol.

Historically, the JCCIC provides Members of Congress with a limited number of viewing area tickets to distribute, most of which are for a standing area at, or near, the east end of the National Mall.

Please note that given ongoing COVID-19 precautions, the inauguration ceremony may be conducted differently in 2021 than it has in past years. Tickets will be limited, and it is unlikely all ticket requests will be fulfilled.

Please carefully read and follow the steps below to request tickets to the presidential inauguration ceremony:

  1. Read the “Preliminary Points” section of this Form
  2. Fill out the “Presidential Inauguration Ticket Request” Form
  3. Submit the Form

  • The JCCIC will not inform Members of Congress how many viewing area tickets will be provided to each office until a few weeks after the presidential election on November 3, 2020.
The Office of Congressman Sean Casten will not fulfill requests for inauguration tickets until the JCCIC has made its announcements. Please note that tickets will be limited, and it is unlikely all ticket requests will be fulfilled.
  • In the past, the presidential inauguration has attracted large crowds, long lines, and heavy traffic around DC and the Capitol area. Standing areas for the ceremony have typically been very crowded even though they are ticketed. Please also note that January in Washington, DC can be very cold, and all viewing areas will be outdoors and standing areas only.
  • The JCCIC does not release the tickets to Members of Congress until about a week before the inauguration ceremony. For those who are granted tickets, arrangements must be made to have your tickets picked up from Congressman Sean Casten’s Office before 3:00 pm on January 19, 2021.
  • Tickets are free of charge and may not be sold.

Incomplete forms or ticket requests from persons living outside of Illinois’ 6th Congressional District, will not be considered.
