CASTEN RELEASES NEW VIDEO WITH MESSAGE FROM HEALTH CARE WORKERS: GET VACCINATED
Downers Grove, IL — Today, U.S. Congressman Sean Casten (D-IL) released a new video featuring health care workers encouraging constituents to get the COVID-19 vaccine. On Thursday, Casten will be with President Biden in Elk Grove for a visit highlighting the president's vaccine mandates for businesses.
Congressman Casten recently visited three Advocate Aurora Health Hospitals in the 6th District to hear firsthand about the obstacles the COVID-19 pandemic presented to healthcare workers and to amplify their most important message: With local hospitals admitting COVID-19 patients every single day since the start of the pandemic, it's clear that keeping our economy open and kids in school will require everyone to get vaccinated. Now more than ever, protecting the health of our loved ones and ensuring our economy will continue to recover requires all of us to do our part.

"Despite our vaccine rollout and the high vaccination rates in our district, we are not across the finish line. I implore everyone who is able to, to please get vaccinated as soon as possible. Don't take it from me though. Many of us have been entrusting our health with doctors for many years, and for good reason. Healthcare workers dedicate their lives to one thing, keeping us safe and healthy. We trust them when we have a broken bone or anything serious to that matter. Please ask your family doctor about the COVID-19 vaccine and trust what they have to say. Our healthcare heroes are counting on us to bring this pandemic to a close." Casten said.
Rep. Casten sat down with hospital staff and administrators to discuss the experiences they have endured throughout the pandemic, including how the vaccine rollout has given them a sense of hope.
The three hospitals Rep. Casten visited were: Advocate Good Shepherd in Barrington; Advocate Sherman in Elgin; and Advocate Good Samaritan Hospital in Downers Grove.
