Casten, Illinois Congressional Delegation to Hold Press Conference Following Hearing on Postal Service Performance

Chicago, Ill. – Today Friday, October 15, 2021, at 3:00 p.m. CT / 4:00 p.m. ET, U.S. Representative Sean Casten (IL-06) will join Mike Quigley (IL-05) and Gerald E. Connolly, Chairman of the Subcommittee on Government Operations for a press conference with Members of the Illinois congressional delegation to address the dramatic reductions in U.S. Postal Service delivery performance in Chicago and across the country.
The press conference will immediately follow the Subcommittee's hearing entitled "Waiting on the Mail: Postal Service Standard Drops in Chicago and the Surrounding Area."
Since last summer, Casten has been a leader calling for oversight of what he sees as Postmaster Dejoy's "deliberate attempt to weaken and ultimately privatize the post office - to make people who depend on the postal service frustrated enough to finish the destruction he has initiated."
