Appropriations Requests
FY 2026 Appropriations
To submit an appropriations request for FY2026, please use this form.
What is an appropriations request?
Every year, Congress is responsible for allocating overall funding for offices, programs, and grants administered by the federal government. As your Representative, Rep. Casten has the opportunity to advocate on behalf of programs that are important to Illinois’ 6th Congressional District. For example, if your local fire department benefits from the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA)’s Assistance to Firefighters Grants, Rep. Casten can advocate to maintain or increase the total funding for these grants.
Please note that appropriations requests cannot guarantee funding for any specific entity or project and are separate from individual grant requests.
Can I request dedicated funding specifically for the organization I represent?
For questions regarding Community Funding Projects requests, or money to a specific organization, please contact Chloe Hunt at Chloe.Hunt@mail.house.gov.
Who should submit an appropriations request?
Appropriations requests should be submitted by community members who work to secure funding for a project; for example, a village administrator or a federally qualified health center’s financial officer or executives.
What is the deadline to submit appropriations requests?
The deadline for submitting requests to our office is April 16, 2025.
If you are a constituent or local organization and believe you will need additional time to complete your request, please call my legislative staff in my Washington, D.C. office at (202) 225-4561 and we will work with you to help.
Will the information I submit be public?
Some details, including the location and substance of your request, may be public. We will never publicly share the name or other personal information of the requestor without your permission.
