Casten to Host Virtual Town Hall with Gun Control Activist and Parkland Father, Fred Guttenberg
(Downers Grove, IL) – On Saturday, July 30th at 1:00PM CT, Congressman Sean Casten (IL-06) will join Fred Guttenberg, father of Parkland shooting victim Jamie, for a town hall focusing on gun violence prevention: “Gun Violence in the US: Facts, Hard Truths and Solutions”. After tragic shootings in Uvalde and Highland Park, this town hall will be a conversation about the gun violence problem we are facing and what can be done to stop the carnage.
Throughout the town hall, Rep. Casten will take questions from constituents on their questions related to gun violence and gun violence prevention.

Casten has co-sponsored multiple gun violence prevention bills, including the Assault Weapons Ban, the Safer Neighborhood Guns Buyback Act, the No Guns for Abusers Act, among others listed here.
Casten also introduced the Gun Trafficker Detection Act, to combat the flow of illegally trafficked firearms into Illinois.
Since coming to Congress, Casten has made it his top priority to be accessible and in constant communication with constituents—holding over 50 Town Halls and hundreds of online community roundtables.
