REP. SEAN CASTEN ANNOUNCES ILLINOIS GAINED 19,600 PAYROLL JOBS IN FEBRUARY

Washington, DC - Today, Rep. Sean Casten announced Illinois gained 19,600 jobs in February and 277,900 total jobs this year, according to the latest data from the Bureau of Labor Statistics. Casten helped local businesses create jobs by passing the American Rescue Plan and the Bipartisan Infrastructure Plan. He continues working to help Illinois create even more good-paying jobs by passing the America COMPETES Act which will strengthen our supply chain, start making more products in America, and strengthen our global competitiveness.

"Today's Jobs report shows that President Biden's economic plan is working and we are getting Illinoisans back to work," said Rep. Casten. "Still, our job is far from over. The Infrastructure Law will build off the momentum of the American Rescue Plan by creating millions more good-paying jobs rebuilding America's infrastructure year after year. And the America COMPETES Act will create even more jobs by making more critical products in America."

Under President Biden, the U.S. has created an average of 565,000 jobs per month – a total of 7.9 million jobs, since January 2021.
