Report Back from COP26: Chair Castor, Rep. Casten, Rep. Neguse to Hold Virtual Press Conference on Urgency of Finishing the Job & Passing Build Back Better Act Next Week
Washington, D.C. – Fresh off of their trip to Glasgow for COP26 with Speaker Nancy Pelosi, House Select Committee on the Climate Crisis Chair Kathy Castor (FL-14), Representative Sean Casten (IL-06), and Representative Joe Neguse (CO-02) will join LCV and Climate Power on Friday, November 12, at 2:00 p.m. ET for a virtual press conference on the urgency and importance of meeting the goal of cutting climate pollution in half by 2030 by passing the Build Back Better Act.
Last week Congress came together to pass the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act and a rule to advance the Build Back Better Act. Now that step one is complete, it's time for Congress to finish the job and deliver on this once-in-a-generation opportunity for climate and environmental justice investments that will create good-paying jobs, reduce costs for families, and slash pollution -- especially in the communities that have historically been left behind. Next week, Congress must pass the Build Back Better Act.
